SPIRITUAL HEALING OF DISABILITY IN THE BIBLE

Paralysis Related:

Matthew 4:23-29: “And Jesus traveled throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every kind of disease and sickness among the people. And his fame was heard throughout Syria; so they brought to him all who were badly afflicted with different diseases, and those who were tormented with pins, and the insane and epileptics and cripples; and he healed them.”

Matthew: 9:1-8: “And they brought to him a paralytic lying on a quilt; and Jesus saw their faith, and he said to the paralytic, Have courage my son; your sins have been forgiven. Some of the Scribes said among themselves, This man blasphemes. But Jesus knew their thoughts; so he said to them, Why do you think evil in your hearts?  For which is easier to say, Your sins have been forgiven, or to say, Arise and walk? But that you might know that the Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins, then he said to the paralytic, Arise, take up your quilt and go to your home. And he rose up and went to his home.”

Acts: 8:6-7: “And when the people of that place heard his word, they gave heed and listened attentively to everything Philip said, because they saw the miracles which he did. Many who were mentally afflicted cried with loud voices and were restored; and others who were paralytic and lame were healed.”

Acts 9: 33-34: “And there he found a man named Aeneas, who had been paralyzed and had lain in bed eight years. And Simon Peter said to him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you. Aris and make your bed. And he arose immediately.”

Acts 14: 8-10: “And there dwelt in the city of Lystra a cripple who had been lame from his mother’s womb, who never had walked. He heard Paul speak; and when Paul saw him and perceived that there was faith in him to be healed, He said to him with a loud voice, I say to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, stand upright on your feet. And he leaped and walked.”

Blindness & Deafness:

Matthew: 9:29-30: “Then he touched their eyes and said, Let it be to you according to your faith. And immediately their eyes were opened; and Jesus charged them and said, See that no one knows it.”

Matthew: 12: 22: “Then they brought near to him a lunatic, who was also dumb and blind; and he healed him, so that the dumb and blind man could speak and see.”

Mark 8: 32-35: “And they brought to him a deaf and dumb man; and they asked him to lay his hand on him. So he drew him aside from the people, and put his fingers into his ears; then he spat, and touched his tongue. And he looked up to the heaven and sighed, and he said to him, Ethpatakh, which means, Be opened. And in that very hour his ears were opened, and his tongue was loosened, and he spoke plainly.

Mark 10: 46-52: “And they came to Jericho; and when Jesus went out of Jericho with his disciples and a large crowd, a blind man, Timaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the roadside begging. Then Jesus stopped and commanded to call him, Have courage, rise; he is calling you. And the Blind man threw off his robe and got up and went to Jesus. Jesus said to him, What do you wish me do for you?  The blind man said to him, Master, that I may see. And Jesus said to him, See; your faith has healed you. And immediately he saw and went on his way.

John 9: 1, 5-7: “And as Jesus passes by, he saw a man who was blind from his mother’s womb. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. When he said these words, he spat on the ground and mixed clay with hIs saliva, and he place it on the eyes of the blind man. Then he said to him, Go and wash in the baptismal pool of Shiloha. He went and washed, and he came seeing.

Other Physical Disability:

Luke 13: 11-13: “There was a woman who has been afflicted with rheumatism for eighteen years, and was bent down and could never straighten herself at all. Jesus saw her, Woman, you are cured of your sickness. And he laid his hand on her, and immediately she straightened up and praised God.

Matthew: 15 & 18: “My Lord, have mercy on me; my son is an epileptic and has become worse; he often falls into the fire, and often into the water. And Jesus rebuked him, and the demon went out of him; and the boy was healed from that very hour.
